Sony Ericsson has just released the music oriented Android phone called Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman. Just like its predecessor Sony Ericsson W8, Live with Walkman also put music in your pocket without scarping the cash out of it. Although it’s a mid-range phone but it has all the high-end features which is considered for the perfect Smartphone. It has the refreshed Xperia styling of the new Sony Ericsson Xperia mini and Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray. It, basically the same phone as (design wise) the same as new Xperia mini-minus the ultra-compact chassis and BRAVIA screen in return of we have Walkman credentials, front-facing camera and larger 3.2-inch screen.
Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman is designed for music lovers and younger audience without scarping their cash out the wallet. It has a 3.2-inch TFT capacitive touch screen with HVGA resolution (320x480). It does not have BRAVIA Engine powered Reality display which is found in all Xperia 2001 line up. The garden TFT nit has good brightness and pleasing color but poor contrast ratio.
Live with Walkman runs Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread OS planned to update Android 4.0(ICS) in late April, with custom skin and nice package of apps. Custom skin includes a five home screen pans to fill with your favorite widget, shortcuts or folders and corner drawer are visible in all screens. It has a 5-mega-pixel camera with single LED flash, 8x digital zoom, autofocus, Geo-tagging, Image stabilizer, Red-eye reduction, scene detection, self timer, send to web, smile detection, touch capture, touch focus, video light, 3D sweep panaroma and 720p HD video recording with continues autofocus. The image quality is only decent. And front-facing camera for video chats on Google talk or Skype but network video calling is not supported (let’s hope it will be available in the future update).
Like the new 2011 Xperia lineup Live With Walkman also support USB-on-the-go support via LiveDock. Show video, photos and complete slide shows stored on your phone through your DLNA certified HDTV. Sony Entertainment Network services offers access to over 10 million songs and thousands of movies from major music labels and film studios.
